Dear Students,
Although many of you have already received your definitive student IDs, some of you are still using the temporary ones.
This is just a reminder that you should always keep your student ID with you, otherwise your student pass is not valid, and ticket inspectors love to fine students without valid student IDs.
If you still have the temporary paper, please have it with you (a photo of it in your phone is not sufficent). Thank you!
Best regards,
Ms Ágnes CSIMMA

Dear Students,
Many of you have questions or doubts about immigration-related issues. So here you have the most improtant information summarized.
RESIDENCE PERMITS
Residence permits are delivered to the university by post.
Your coordinator will inform you as soon as your permit has arrived. (There is no need to ask about it, we will let you know immediately.)
You don’t need to go to the immigration office either, just wait patiently because unfortunately permits are often issued with significant delay.
ADDRESS CARDS
Your address card is a pdf document with your name, address and a QR code in it.
If you haven’t received your address card in email or at the embassy, you can go to the immigration office to get it. (Probably this is the fastest way of getting it.)
If you only go there to get your address card, you have to join the queue to get a number but very probably you will get the address card at the reception (instead of getting a number and having to wait).
Please note that most often you will need your residence permit and address card for opening a bank account or for getting a mobile phone contract.
CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICES
You may go to one of two customer service offices.
Opening hours in both:
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am to 12 noon
Try to be there around 8 am because there is always a long queue.
Option 1:
1117 Budapest, Budafoki út 60.
(Here there tend to be relatively fewer people than in the other customer service office.)
What you can do there:
- procedure to extend or replace your residence permit
- do the biometrics for the residence permit
- get your address card (if you haven’t received it in email)
What to bring (minimum):
- residence permit
- passport
- student status certificate
How to get there:
- bus 133 (Astoria – Ferenciek tere – Szent Gellért tér - … - Hengermalom út )
- bus 33 (from Móricz Zsigmond körtér to Hengermalom út )
Option 2:
1135 Budapest, Szegedi út 35-37.
What you can do there:
- procedure to extend or replace your residence permit
- do the biometrics for the residence permit (when you are told to do it in email)
- get your address card (if you haven’t received it in email)
- receive your residence permit if it wasn’t posted to the university
What to bring (minimum):
- residence permit
- passport
- student status certificate
How to get there:
- bus 105 or tram 14 to Béke tér, then walk 5 minutes
- bus 20E, 30, 30A, 32, 230 to Szegedi út
CHANGING YOUR ADDRESS
If your address has changed because you have moved to a different place or because you started the visa process using the dormitory address but you are not staying in the dorm, you must report the change of address to the Immigration Authority (OIF).
You must do so via Enter Hungary: [ https://enterhungary.gov.hu/eh/ | https://enterhungary.gov.hu/eh/ ] .
- If you have used the Enter Hungary platform before, you can simply log in and start the procedure.
- If you haven't used the platform before, then first you will have to register at [ https://enterhungary.gov.hu/eh/register | https://enterhungary.gov.hu/eh/register ] and then you will be able to change your address.
Log in to the platform and select the following procedure: Notification / Notification of change of address. Then fill in the form.
Required documents:
* rental agreement, dormitory certificate (not compulsory)
* [ https://ppke.sharepoint.com/:w:/s/NKOall/EdgwI_1UietFg6LYGhW61tgB2VG2ehM3Kw… | accommodation reporting form ] filled in (you can download it from the Info Site but I have also attached it to this mail) and signed by your dormitory or landlord (compulsory)
* valid passport
You just submit the electronic notification form and you will receive your new address card in email within a few weeks.
I hope this will help you clarify your doubts.

Dear Students,
Thank you very much for your active participation throughout the Orientation Week. We hope that you have gained useful insights into our Faculty, learned about the regulations necessary for your successful studies, and also had fun during the week’s activities.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could send us your best photos from the week to the International Office ( international.office(a)itk.ppke.hu) , so that we can prepare a short compilation.
As mentioned earlier, teaching officially begins on Monday, September 8 at 10.00 a.m. (!), as the Veni Sancte Mass will be held in the morning.
At 4.00 p.m. on Monday, the International Opening Ceremony will take place. Attendance at this event is compulsory. Classes will finish before the ceremony, or you are kindly asked to leave class in time to join. Please come in formal attire. Each student will receive a white glove, which you will be asked to put on for the moment when the Dean greets you as our new student with a handshake.
We wish you a very successful semester and much joy in your studies ahead.

Dear Students,
Here is a summary of what you have to know about tomorrow's day trip.
Meeting point: 8:00 am at "Déli" railway station (Déli pályaudvar) - end of metro line M2 (red)
We meet where near the ticket offices.
The train leaves at 8:25 am. Whoever is not there in time, will have to come on their own.
Destination: Tata
Station where we get off the train: Tóvároskert (Tata)
Our programme is the following:
1. Eszterházy Champagne Factory (guided tour and champagne tasting)
2. Dragon boat on the lake
Be prepared for physical exercise and for possibly getting a bit wet.
There are changing rooms there.
3. Lunch
Since lunch will be at 2 pm, and before that you'll try some champagne and do physical exercise, please bring some snacks with you to "survive" the morning.
Tickets
You all have a temporary student ID now. Please have them with you tomorrow.
* If you have the country pass for students (HUF 1890), you don't have to pay for the ticket.
* If you don't have a country pass , you will have to buy a ticket, which costs HUF 745 in one direction.
* If you don't have a country pass and are over 25, your ticket will cost HUF 1490 in one direction. (So it is more worth to buy a country pass than 2 tickets.)
Return journey
There are trains back in every hour (at half past the hour).
You may come back with us right after lunch or you may decide to stay there longer and come back to Budapest later on your own.
See you tomorrow morning!
Best,
Ágnes
